About There's Hope America
On February 19th, 1984 in the WSB-TV studios in Atlanta, Georgia, Dr. and Mrs. Lee together began a ministry that would change lives and touch hearts with the Gospel of Christ all over the world. There's Hope Ministries was established with the vision of sharing the hope of Jesus Christ through His message of salvation, to stand for what is right, and to both spiritually and physically nurture individuals around the world.
From the first day of broadcast, There's Hope has made an impact. People from Beijing, China to Cairo, Egypt to every part of the United States have been blessed by There's Hope and the people who work with the ministry.
We have receive thousands upon thousands of letters through the years of people whose lives have been radically altered by hearing the unadulterated Word of God preached through television, radio and the Internet.
There's Hope has always been at the forefront, stepping into areas that no other Christian programming has gone before. There's Hope was the first and o nly Christian programming to be shown o n the E! Entertainment Television Network reaching millions with the Gospel message that would never tune into a Christian network.
Yet, through the years, There's Hope has never forgotten that Christ commands us to share His love. Through shipping large cargo containers of food to Somalia during the famine of the early 90's to establishing a full time food program called There's Hope for the Hungry in 2003. There's Hope for the Hungry has been able to deliver over 1 million pounds of food since 2003, finding the need great whether it be from the poor, disabled, temporarily unemployed, or those just fighting to get by.
Dr. Lee, through There's Hope, has taken a stand for the principles of Christ o n such issues as gays in the military in the early 90's and in 1988 against the movie "The Last Temptation of Christ." Over 150,000 Americans joined forces with Dr. Lee to defeat this assault against Christ. In his book, "Hollywood vs. America," noted film critic Michael Medved credited There's Hope with playing a vital role in this victory for the cause of Christ. It is in this history that o n February 18, 2007, There's Hope America debuted. At no other time in American history has it been more important for Christians to stand and be counted. Not to be fooled by the mainstream, but be grounded in the foundation of Christ. There's Hope America is taking a step back to the forefront in the fight for the conscience of America.
